As quarantine drags on, our patience runs low. But that’s normal! It’s been a while since we were able to socialize, see our friends and go out for a drink or have any type of meaningful entertainment, fun or physical activity outside our homes.
Despite all these difficulties, there are ways to mitigate the stress on your mental and physical health. Below we found the three best ways we used ourselves at home to take our minds off of the negatives and focus on ourselves, our families and our careers.
Try Yoga: Nothing feels better than stretching the muscles. You don’t have to go hardcore, you can do a relaxing session in the morning and one in the afternoon. It is not only good for your body to be kept in shape, but also helps relax your mind and gives you the peace you so badly need at times like this. The fun part is that you can do it with your family, as a group activity.
Have a dedicated work space: working from home can be fun, but you must keep it separate from your daily life. Never mix the two together as work life balance is the most important factor during the quarantine. Your body, as well as your mind, need to feel relaxed at times and mixing the two disables your brain from being able to distinguish the two. This results in exhaustion and tiredness. To prevent this, make a small work space area and try working only from there.
Chat with people: Talk with different people every day. Mix then every other day and see new people. Keep in touch and video chat with everyone. Ask how they are doing and listen to them. Share your feelings with them. Remember, we are all in this together!
